KC Tool takes great pride in the tools we sell, but you know that already. What you may not know is that we are deeply devoted to our beloved Kansas City and that we all LOVE to eat. So when the opportunity arises to combine three of our passions, it is only natural that we take part.
Cultivate KC is a local Kansas City non-profit that works to grow food, farms and families by not only improving the city’s food scene but also by educating and connecting local growers. We love this concept and we want to help them achieve their goals.
BUT, we also want you to get the great German quality tools you know and love at the same time. The normal price of a Felo No. 2 Phillips screwdriver is over 11 bucks, but from now until the end of August 2018 we are discounting it to five dollars, WITH ALL PROCEEDS going to Cultivate KC.
We hope you will take advantage of this great deal and this opportunity for us to give back to our community. We also know that it may be a stretch to ask you to help one of our local charities. If you choose not to take advantage, please take a moment to consider giving 5 dollars to something you believe in. A little bit can go along way in helping other people.
We at KC Tool spend all day with the great German tools you have come to know and love. We also have very different opinions and aren’t afraid to voice them. Our weekly meetings always go way over the time allotted. For a while, I personally was the butt of the joke because I called a special meeting about a specific YouTube video we were working on and the meeting took two hours because we all had different views on it. For as long as that freakin’ meeting was, it was great that we work in an environment that welcomes opposing viewpoints and allows us to share them without prosecution.
Now those opinions are on full display. Read More »
We have discussed previously on this blog about the highly specific “Pentalobe” screw head and the tools used in conjunction. The Pentalobe shape is a relatively new invention compared to one its cousins, the Hexalobular screw, which many people call a star or Torx. Torx is actually a trademark of Camcar Textron, so the use of its name is another example of genericized trademark, like we use the term Allen Wrench for Hex Keys.Read More »
There are various sets of standards in the tool world. In America we have The American National Standards Institute or ANSI for short. On a global level, there is the International Organization for Standardization, or ISO. Since this is a blog about specifically German made tools we will look at the German version: DIN.
DIN stands for Deutsches Institut Für Normung or German Institute for Standardization in English. They have been operating for literally 100 years and have always been highly regarded in the standards community. Though the name implies an exclusively German operation, the DIN standards have been adopted across the world and influenced many other standards organizations including the ISO. The best example of this is the DIN standard 476 from 1922 introducing the A sizes of paper which would later become ISO 216 in 1975.Read More »
Limited Quantities Available!
What a surprise when we heard that there were Felo pliers available to us on a one time buy basis! We had been told many times before they were unavailable due to being discontinued in Germany. Of course, we bought all we could knowing that we couldn’t replenish or take backorders on these tools.
We have these Felo pliers listed under the “Clearance” section of our website. It isn’t a bad idea to bookmark this page on our website (as well as the “tool of the day” page). There are all kinds of little gems like these Felo pliers popping up from time to time. Hurry while supplies last!
P.S. We are hearing some rumblings about Felo making pliers again. Nothing but unconfirmed rumors at this point, but we will keep you up to date. Be sure to subscribe for the latest news.
We have dropped the price on the Felo 63599 19 Piece Bit Set. This really is a great deal at $37.99 which is a full 56% off of list pricing (@ $87.25). This is a Black Friday type of discount. We don’t offer this deep of a discount often.

Each month we give $50 KC Tool store credit to one of our customers who left a product review in that month. Individuals are automatically entered when you leave an individual product review. Once the winner is announced they will already have had their $50 prize applied to their account. Shop at your leisure.
Start of each new quarter usually brings new manufacturers promotions, but I’m thrilled to announce that Felo and Wiha are unchanged from quarter 4, 2016. Sometimes when you have a winning selection you just stick with it, ya know? Wera has announced a new promotional grouping including the always popular “James Bond” driver and the “Tool-Check Plus” system.
