It has been a long time coming in the iPhone repair industry but the wait is almost over! We will be shipping the Wiha Pentalobe Screwdriver for iPhones by the end of November 2013. Wiha makes the most popular precision screwdrivers and seems to be a favorite among iPhone repair technicians for their comfortable size and extremely long lasting tips.
Since the 5 point Torx-like screw in the iPhone is the first of its kind in that size, the driver name has not been standardized. Wiha has chosen to name theirs P1 Pentalobe screwdriver and will be releasing sizes P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, and P6 along with a 6-piece set. Some are calling them IPR1 since IPR is the sizing name used by Wera Tools and Wiha Tools for their larger size of the 5 point Security TorxPlus tools. IPR is essentially the same thing, although the IPR tools have a hole in the end to accommodate the security pin on the fastener. We have also seen the same driver by chinese manufacturers referred to as TS1 which is another abbreviation of Torx Security. Although the naming can be confusing you can be sure if you need a very high quality Pentalobe screwdriver for iPhone repair, KC Tool will have you covered.
