Dead blow hammers have a loose material, like shot, in a hollow head.  The shot increases the force of the blow and absorbs the energy, which reduces or eliminates recoil. Wiha Makes a great Dead Blow Hammer.  The steel handle version comes in 18oz, 21oz, 24oz, 30oz, 37oz, 49oz, 72oz, and 97oz sizes.  The Hickory handle version comes in 11oz, 16oz, 20oz, 26oz, 35oz, 44oz, 70oz, and 91oz sizes.  Wiha also makes a Dead Blow Sledge Hammer in 10lb and 15lb sizes with longer handles.  The hammer face is a medium hard polyurethane that preserves sensitive surfaces and they are replaceable.  At KC Tool, we have all 16 models of Wiha’s Dead Blow Hammer in stock and we sell them for less!

Well thats an easy one!  Wiha makes the best precision Screwdrivers, but don’t take my word for it.  Take  look at this post on toolmonger.com where they pose the question. In the comments, a lot of people are agreeing Wiha is the best.  I love it!

There’s another post on Garage Journal posting the same question and the majority of people there also believe Wiha makes the best precision screwdrivers.

Wiha Announces Minimum Pricing with a MAP Agreement. Order now if you want the best deal!

September 20th, 2012 Wiha Tools (AKA Willi Hahn) announced a Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) Agreement for its USA Distributors.  This means all authorized distributers of Wiha Tools will be required to advertise the price of Wiha tools no lower than 85% of the standard retail price set by Wiha Tools USA.  The agreement covers Newspaper, Catalog, Direct Mail, Fax, Radio, TV and of course, the Internet.

How will this affect the consumer?  Its going to make it much more difficult to find a great deal on Wiha Tools.  Let me clarify, Wiha Tools are still a great deal even at retail price for the quality of tool you get, but it will be harder to find that extra discount you are looking for. This change is set to take effect quickly so if you are on the fence about freshening up your tool set or getting that new tool you have had your eye on, I would do it right away.
