September 20th, 2012 Wiha Tools (AKA Willi Hahn) announced a Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) Agreement for its USA Distributors.  This means all authorized distributers of Wiha Tools will be required to advertise the price of Wiha tools no lower than 85% of the standard retail price set by Wiha Tools USA.  The agreement covers Newspaper, Catalog, Direct Mail, Fax, Radio, TV and of course, the Internet.

How will this affect the consumer?  Its going to make it much more difficult to find a great deal on Wiha Tools.  Let me clarify, Wiha Tools are still a great deal even at retail price for the quality of tool you get, but it will be harder to find that extra discount you are looking for. This change is set to take effect quickly so if you are on the fence about freshening up your tool set or getting that new tool you have had your eye on, I would do it right away.
