KC Tool Volunteers For Habitat For Humanity

Last week, a group of us from KC Tool got the chance to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City. From a tree-lined street in downtown Kansas City (not all that far from the legendary Arthur Bryant’s), we spent the incredibly hot day installing new siding on two different homes.

We are all tool guys, obviously, and use them all the time. Let’s face it though, our main job is to SELL tools, so it was a great opportunity for us to get out there and spend a day USING tools. Though I think many of us were cursing being outside on one of the hottest days of the year in KC, I think I can speak for all us involved by saying it was an incredibly rewarding experience. It has been an interesting and tough time for the world lately and even more so for those who are less fortunate. Reading the stories of the future owners of the houses we were working on gave us perspective, humility and made us even more appreciative of our own lives. If a couple hours of sweat means the difference in someone’s life, then it is worth it.

We at KC Tool encourage you to volunteer. There is a need for people everywhere. It doesn’t take much to be a significant part of your local community and lift someone’s spirits. From the poorest neighborhoods to the most affluent communities, positive action and real change are always possible.

Take a look at some of the pictures we took from our day on site and be on the lookout for a special fundraiser coming soon to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City.
