Wiha Tools has just released a Digital Torque Screwdriver known as iTorque. This is Wiha’s first Torque Screwdriver with digital readout and it’s also their first adjustable torque screwdriver that does not require a tool for adjustment.
The Cycle counter is great for those working under strict calibration guidelines. Since these tools need recalibration after 5000 cycles, it’s great to have a tool that keeps an accurate cycle count.
The ability to convert the readout from Newton Meter to Inch Pounds can be a real time saver for those who require both scales.

A combination wrench is a very simple tool but its certainly not simple to make one, especially a high quality one. Although we specialize in, and only sell German Tools here at KC Tool, we still have respect for other high quality tool manufacturers like Beta from Italy and of course Snap-on from the good ole U.S. of A. The only readily available Pentalobe screwdrivers are currently produced in China. These Pentalobe screwdrivers may be acceptable for occasional use but those of you who are repairing Apple products will be excited to learn about a higher quality tool currently being manufactured by Wiha. It’s widely accepted that Wiha, a German tool manufacturer, makes the highest quality precision screwdrivers in the world and we are thrilled to report that they have begun manufacturing six Pentelobe screwdrivers in sizes IPR1 through IPR6. These will certainly be the tool of choice for iPhone Repair Technicians around the world!
The Pentalobe screw was first used by Apple in 2009. It’s been used in Apple’s iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 as well as the MacBook and Macbook Air. It’s classified as a temper proof fastener and is meant to stop unauthorized opening or repair of the devices. The design is very similar to the six point Torx screw except it only has five points.
Wiha was not able to give us a firm date for the release of this new driver but we do know they have begun production on six sizes that will first be released in their standard precision screwdriver handle and ESD safe insert blades for their ESD Safe Torque Screwdrivers.

If you’re shopping for Knipex Pliers you have probably seen some part numbers with the suffix of SBA. We get questions about this from time to time and it simply means the tool will come in retail packaging like this image below.
It also means you will pay $1 extra for the tool. Knipex offers some tools with or without the SBA packaging but many tools are only available one way or the other.
While we’re on the subject of part numbers lets take a look at how to decipher the Knipex part numbers.
Using this information you can tell Knipex part number 87 01 250 is a Cobra Plier(87) with the standard jaw(0), polished head with plastic coated handle (1), and is 250mm in overall length.
